SPACE IS LIMITED. SIGN UP EARLY TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT

The short (SS) and long (LS) season will both begin on April 15th.  The short season is geared more for kids that would like to learn about the sport of track and field and will conclude on May 15th. Practices will be held on Monday and Wednesday evening.  The long season will begin the same time as the short season but will continue on June 4th and conclude June 18th with practices on Tuesday and Thursday.  This program is geared toward the kids that would desire to compete in competitions.  The registration fee includes entry fees to meets that COTC competes in.

There are several optional and fun competition opportunities throughout the summer.

Participants in the Cheetah Cub program must be 6-10 years of age (entering 1st -5th grade) to take part in this program.

If you are looking for a program for middle or high school ages go to the MS/HS CHEETAH link.

The purpose of COTC is to introduce youth kids to the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing events, in a fun track and field atmosphere with a highly skilled coaching staff.  More experienced middle/high school aged athletes will continue to train and hone on skills in not only thier primary events, but have opportunities to learn and try new events.

Events covered will include sprinting, middle and long distance running, relays, long & high jump, throws, and hurdles. Stretching and conditioning games will be integrated each day. Safety and sports etiquette will be emphasized. The goal of the program is to provide character development through youth participation in the sport of track and field. As a result of participating each athlete can realize his/her full social, intellectual, and athletic potential and develop a strong sense of loyalty, commitment, and appreciation in the following areas of focus as part of a team: Personal Responsibility, Unity, Team Cohesiveness, and Community Awareness.

Athletes participating in COTC Track and Field may have the opportunity to compete in USATF Junior Olympic Championships at the state, region and national levels.
